Our Cake Smash & Splash session is the perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! Designed to capture the joy and wonder of this special milestone, this session lets your baby taste (and smash!) their first birthday cake, followed by a fun milk flower or fruit bath, all while I capture these precious moments.
Unlike themed, prop-heavy sessions, my photography style is simple and minimalistic, focusing on your baby. If you prefer a relaxed, music-filled atmosphere and value local, handmade, sustainable, and natural elements, I am the right photographer for you. Rest assured, I am fully insured and certified in pediatric first aid to ensure your baby’s safety throughout the session.
Session Details:
Classic Portraits: We’ll start with some timeless portraits of your little one.
Cake Smash: Then, we introduce a custom smash cake for your baby to explore, resulting in delightful, candid photos.
Splash Session: Finally, we’ll have a fun “splash” session to capture adorable clean-up moments.

These sessions are ideally booked when your baby is around 11 months old, giving you ample time to use the photos for birthday invitations, displays, and more.

These sessions are also more of a sensory experience – which normally allows for lots of giggles and super cute expressions to be captured on camera.
What’s Included
In my cosy garden studio located in the beautiful Cork area of Glanmire that is specifically designed to help me create stunning images and where you can feel right at home. This studio is fully equipped with everything I need; from backdrops to outfits, fabrics and backgrounds. I have carefully curated a range of items that will help me capture the magic of your maternity journey. MAY TAKE UP TO 1.5 HOURS.
This is to accommodate time for cuddles, snack time and nappy changes. Time is dictated by your baby.
I SOURCE IT FOR YOU, FROM A LOCAL BAKER, WHO MAKES WONDERFUL SIMPLE & BOHO STYLED NAKED CAKES.

ONE CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR THE CAKE SMASH AND ANOTHER FOR THE FAMILY PHOTO…
HEADBANDS AND PROPS ARE SUPPLIED. I ALSO HAVE A SELECTION OF CUTE ROMPERS FOR THE SMASH PART IF NEEDED!
Make sure you bring a DUMMY/PACIFIER if your baby is using one.
TOWEL (& a change of clothes if needed) to dry off the baby after his or her splash in a basin filled with milk & flowers or milk & fruit
To ensure the photos are timeless, think
SIMPLE OUTFITS, NATURAL COLOURS, NO PATTERNS, NO LOGOS, AVOID NEON COLOURS. ENSURE THAT FAMILY MEMBERS ARE COORDINATED.
Mums – for a more timeless and classic look, opt for a plainer, non-patterned dress or shirt in a neutral tone like white, beige, or pastel. This ensures the focus remains on the special bond between you and your baby. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing.
Dads – a non-patterned shirt or t-shirt is recommended. Avoid white shirts as they often crinkle and can overpower the image. Softer colors like light grey, beige, or pastel shades create a more harmonious and flattering look.

SAFETY IS MY TOP PRIORITY WHEN HANDLING YOUR BABY.
All of my session are baby led, which means my workflow is dictated by your baby’s needs and cues. I often ask mum or dad to be a spotter, especially for babies that have not yet fully mastered the art of sitting or balance. I use natural, and as much as I can locally sourced items. I wash all used props and blankets after each session with non-scented detergent.
I strive to create a relaxed, non-rushed experience for my clients. I am also trained, insured, business registered, and have a pediatric first aid as well as baby safe posing training, so you can trust that you are in safe hands.
