This questionnaire helps me prepare your session so it feels calm, personal, and easy when you arrive.
There are no right or wrong answers — and you can skip anything you’re unsure about.

What stage are they currently at?
Milestone sessions are playful and baby-led. Babies explore, crawl, wobble, smile, and sometimes need breaks — that’s all part of the story, and I’ll follow your baby’s pace on the day.
How would you describe your little one when meeting new people? *
Milestone sessions are child-led. Babies and little ones explore, crawl, wobble, smile, wander off, need cuddles and sometimes need breaks — that’s all completely normal.
For example: being held by Mum or Dad, a favourite song, snack, toy, dummy, cuddles, being given a few minutes to explore, etc.
Music, familiar sounds and favourite toys can sometimes be very helpful during the session.
I try to schedule sessions around nap times wherever possible so they arrive rested and ready.
FAMILY & SESSION DETAILS
Which images are most important to you? Select as many as you like.
This could be a favourite teddy, family keepsake, blanket, musical instrument, uniform, traditional outfit or anything meaningful to your family.
COLOUR & STYLING PREFERENCES
If you're not sure yet, just tell me the colours or outfits you’re considering.
For example: sage green, grey, earthy tones, neutral, colourful, modern, farmhouse, minimalist, traditional, etc.
When it comes to the overall feel of your photographs, which do you naturally prefer?
This helps me prep colours, outfits, and backgrounds for your session.
Certain colours, props, outfits, headbands, themes, backgrounds, etc.
CLOTHING & STYLING FOR THE FAMILY
You don’t need to have everything decided yet. Just tell me what you’re considering for yourself, your partner and the children. Plain clothing without large logos or very busy patterns generally photographs best and helps keep the finished images timeless.
Would you like any help coordinating your family’s outfits before the session?
You’re also very welcome to send me photos of outfit options beforehand and I can help you decide what will photograph best together.
Would you like to book professional hair and/or makeup for your session?
My makeup artist can come to the studio before your session, so everything can be done in one place. It can be especially lovely if you’re planning to be in the family or parent-and-child photographs too. Needs to be booked in advance.
WHAT MATTERS MOST TO YOU
What's your main reason for booking this session?
This could be their personality, expressions, relationship with siblings, closeness as a family, a particular stage they’re going through, or simply how life feels right now.
FIRST BIRTHDAY / CAKE EXPLORATION
Is this a first birthday session?
Would you like to include a simple cake exploration at the end of the session?
I keep first birthday sessions simple and timeless rather than heavily themed. If we include cake, it becomes one small part of the session alongside beautiful portraits and family photographs.
COMFORT, WORRIES & EDITING PREFERENCES
This could be concerns about your child being shy, not sitting still, not smiling, siblings cooperating, feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera, or anything else.
For example, a child who needs a little time to warm up, siblings who need space from each other, sensory sensitivities, someone who dislikes being posed, or anything else that might help me make the session easier for everyone.
This might include skin or nail concerns, scars or marks, arms, tummy or neck areas, hairline or thinning hair, or anything else you’d prefer softened or adjusted. I always keep editing natural.

HEALTH & SAFETY (IMPORTANT)
If your child is unwell, please let me know. I would always prefer to reschedule than photograph a child who is sick, uncomfortable, or not feeling themselves. There is never any penalty for postponing.
